This year’s theme is inspired by Organic Music Society, shining a spotlight on Don and Moki Cherry’s visionary and collaborative experiments in the art of living. Terraforma is partnering with Blank Forms for the matinèe lectures and concerts, and will recreate a geodesic dome as a space for exhibitions, lectures and workshops. The festival announced the schedule of lectures and workshops, which includes Invernomuto and BABAU, among others, and will feature an immersive a/v performance from Actress, live performance by The Master Musicians of Jajouka, Nkisi, Scotch Rolex and Shackleton, Salò, and Thomas Ankersmit. Terraforma’s matinee concert series includes Exotic Sin, TYSON, and Still House Plants.
In addition, Terraforma has invited ASMARA, DEENA ABDELWAHED, Lamin Fofana, and OKO DJ b2b Nosedrip to perform DJ sets across the weekend alongside Josey Rebelle, Low Jack b2b STILL, upsammy, and Dennis Bovell. Terraforma will also present the legendary dub reggae vocalist Paul St. Hilaire aka Tikiman live with Scion, Donato Dozzy with Marco Shuttle, and Paquita Gordon. This year, Milan based artist Jim C. Nedd developed the festival’s visual identity, which is image based journey through the details of human bodies merging from the dense mud of the Volcano El Totumo in North Colombia.
Terraforma is not only a music festival, it is an ongoing cultural and social experiment that started with the annual festival, but has grown into a year-round program with events taking place in different cities and contexts. During the pandemic, the festival did virtual activities in the fields of cultural and ecological investigation, and launched Il Pianeta, Terraforma Simposio, and Terraforma Journal. Terraforma is committed to providing visitors and participants with a memorable experience while maintaining sustainability at the festival.
