ELLIZA is redefining luxury by blending sustainability with timeless elegance. Their vision transcends trends, embracing global cultures and timeless craftsmanship to create pieces that tell stories of ambition and individuality. Here presenting their “BERLIN” collection starring brand founding member Liza Rezwani, photographed by Marco Giuliano and styled by Anca Macavei at Multiset Studio Mecenate in Milan.

Sustainability has become a buzzword in the fashion industry, but your approach feels deeply intentional and integrated into your DNA. How do you elevate sustainable practices beyond trendiness to make them synonymous with luxury?
Since the start of ELLIZA we always wanted to have a brand that has transparency about our products and ethical ways of producing. For us it was always important to work with manufacturers that promote everyone in the right way; equal pay, equal chance for a better position and most importantly an ethical working environment. And now child labour. I think this goes beyond having a brand and is more a personal belief.

In an industry obsessed with the new, you advocate for timeless elegance. What does timelessness mean in the context of Elliza Couture, and how do you design pieces that transcend fleeting trends?
What we have always advocated for are clothing that can be worn in different ways and styles. When we started, logos and accessories were a really big thriving point in the fashion industry, but we also knew trends tend to fade away. That’s why when we design our clothing we keep longevity in mind. Our logo is used as an accessory emblem to enhance the design not to make it our main selling point if you don’t like it we make it possible to wear it without a logo.

Your commitment to eco-conscious fabrics is remarkable. How do you balance the challenges of sourcing sustainable materials with maintaining the quality and craftsmanship required for luxury couture?
When we are sourcing for fabrics we always try to avoid non sustainable fabrics, but if this isn’t possible we always search for manufacturers that recycle threads, clothes or give second life to old pieces. There is always room for improvement and innovation even for us we are no were near where we want to be.

Your designs radiate modernity while respecting traditional craftsmanship. How do you envision evolution in a world that demands both heritage and innovation?
When working on a new concept we always look at the history of a country laying a big emphasis on clothing that used to be popular/worn. Taking reference from an old concept or detail and modernizing it into our style is a creative way to express yourself and push old boundaries in a fresh way.

How does Elliza Couture draw inspiration from global cultures, and how do you weave these influences into the brand’s identity?
At ELLIZA we always base our collections on a city taking cultural references from their past and present and intertwine these into new ideas and designs. We try to respect these traditions as much as possible while still trying to create something innovative and refreshing. Drawing inspiration from global culture is the baseline of our designing process.

Luxury and sustainability are often seen as conflicting ideals. How do you challenge this perception, and what role does Elliza play in redefining what high fashion can be?

We don’t believe they should be two conflicting traits: high quality pieces should be able to last someone a lifetime. The care we put into crafting our pieces is the same care that goes into making sure that our process does not harm the environment. ELLIZA looks forward to a future where fashion can provide the best of both worlds: The expression and uniqueness of a high fashion brand, and the durability and fair business practices of a sustainable brand.

Each Elliza piece tells a story. What narratives are you most passionate about sharing, and how do these resonate with the modern, conscious consumer?
We want to offer the modern consumer an option where they do not have to choose between ethical business practices and unique pieces of clothing, as is often the case. Hence our slogan: ‘We design our own future’.
Another important narrative is that we aim to represent places from all over the world in our collections. Elliza is a global brand that anyone can find themselves in. We are not tied down to a location or specific occasions, the only constant is the Elliza vision we represent everything in.

As an emerging brand, you’re shaping not just collections but a philosophy. What legacy do you want Elliza Couture to leave in the fashion world?
Our slogan says it best; we design our own future.
Our goal is to inspire everyone to strive for greatness and pursue their dreams fearlessly. ELLIZA embodies this ambitious spirit by showcasing motivating visuals and messages that encourage you to unlock your own potential and strive for the successes you want to conquer.

How does Elliza Couture draw inspiration from global cultures, and how do you weave these influences into the brand’s identity?
Basing every collection on a different city/country we show no matter where we are, no matter who we are, we can become our true selves.
We intertwine old traditions, cultural references and focus on trims and details that express your inner self. We try to not shy away from either; we want to show the beauty and dark parts of a specific culture we use as reference for our collection and modify it into our own story telling. ELLIZA is my alter ego to accomplish this feeling.

Beyond the garments, what message or emotion do you hope women wearing Elliza Couture carry with them? How does the brand contribute to the conversation about empowerment in fashion?
We want to create a community of ambitious people. That no matter where they live, who they once were, or who they are now they are striving to become that idolised version of themselves. Feeling like the world is at your feet and dreams are not just dreams but reality.
We believe that everything is achievable as long as you are who you are, and expressing yourself in style is the first step towards that.
