Sound as Confession

A talk with David Castellani.

Italian-born, LA-forged, and now based in Lisbon, David Castellani is a producer, live performer, and the mind behind the Noetic label,  a platform known for its modular-driven techno and immersive sonic storytelling. With a background that spans graphic design, sound engineering, and modular synthesis, Castellani has carved out a space where raw emotion meets precise execution. His latest release, Self Saboteur, is a tightly wound 2-track EP featuring poet and vocalist Brittney Vandal. At once fast-paced and introspective, the project explores the emotional cost of creation, the complicated intimacy of inspiration, and the internal friction that often drives artistic breakthroughs.
