Girls Like Angels / CLOUDY

Music Cover Story and Exclusive shooting.

At ten years old, Claudia bought a piano with the first money she had saved herself. Years later, performing as CLOUDY, she still speaks about music with that same sense of ownership. Her debut EP, GIRLS 001, gives that feeling a new form: years of musical curiosity, dancefloor experience and painstaking production lessons finding their way into tracks of her own. Female voices run throughout the record, connecting its title to convictions that extend beyond the studio. With ANGELS, her event series built around FLINTA* lineups, she is creating more space for artists in a scene where she is still frequently the only woman on the bill. Both projects reveal someone increasingly clear about what she stands for, while leaving herself room to change. This is a story about taking your space back. And deciding what to do with it once you have it. In this NASTY exclusive, CLOUDY talks about learning to make the music she could already hear in her head, showing emotion behind the decks and protecting the quiet, ordinary pleasures of being Claudia.
