Los Angeles, CA – Artist Jesse Draxler presents U&I, a solo exhibition and coinciding opening event for his second major publication The World Is Mine & I’m Thinking About You, published by Sacred Bones. The exhibition will open with a grand event the evening of June 1, 2023, at Naked Eye Studio in LA, and run with daytime viewing hours from June 2 – 7 2023.
U&I is perhaps Draxler’s most important solo exhibition to date, encapsulating the artist’s unique vision that has influenced culture since the early days of Tumblr. Draxler has since worked with the likes of Prince, Nine Inch Nails, Alexander McQueen, Ferrari, and many others. The exhibition features multiple mediums including conceptual sculptures, video projections, collaged and painted panels, and digital new media. The works in U&I as well as The World Is Mine & I’m Thinking About You, weave together Draxler’s signature aesthetic and craft to create deeply visceral, worldbuilding experiences that explore the relationships between nature and chaos, negative and positive spaces, social media, and philosophical concepts about nothingness.
Traversing through crushing light and ecstatic darkness, The World Is Mine & I’m Thinking About You traces Draxler’s spectral and fearless nonlinear practice. Spanning medium and context, Draxler’s second major publication with Sacred Bones effortlessly carries his unique aesthetic philosophy through 150+ pages with clever use of minimally interspersed texts that loosely narrate confrontations with social media and industry, remaining on the bleeding edge of both aesthetic and new media, and obsessively questioning and chasing after what comes next.

The opening night event on June 1, 2023, 6 PM – Midnight, will feature a live performance by Daniel Davies and God is War, DJ sets by Ho99o9 and more. The book will be available, as well as exclusive merchandise and opening-night-only video projections, featured spirits, premium beverages, and an on-site food truck.
