Söderberg’s new collection launch, in collaboration with Phase Fatale.

Richard Söderberg transitions from Obscur to a self-titled brand, designed in Germany but made in Italy. Now launching a new collection “CONTROLLED APPOSITION”, featuring an unprecedented collaboration with artists Phase Fatale, showcasing luxurious, durable pieces inspired by Berlin’s industrial history, with a focus on precision and functionality.

Söderberg’s aesthetic is deeply anchored in industrial design and minimalism, drawing from the clarity and functionality of architectural principles. This vision mirrors themes in dystopian literature, where clothing becomes a symbol of defiance, endurance, and the integration of human and environment in a world stripped of excess. Söderberg’s designs evoke a sense of readiness and resilience, as if the wearer is preparing for an uncertain future. His latest collection, CONTROLLED APPOSITION, is a continuation of this philosophy. Designed in Germany and crafted in Italy, the collection reflects his unwavering commitment to quality and precision.

The garments explore structural simplicity and material strength, with leather and metal—key elements of industrial aesthetics—playing a central role. These materials lend a sense of weight and durability, contrasting sharply with the fluidity of more traditional fabrics. The collection also features a four-piece collaboration with Phase Fatale, including silky shirts, an oversized leather vest, and a distressed hoodie, embodying Söderberg’s blend of brutalist and utilitarian influences.

These pieces are more than just clothing; they are a fusion of music, art and design, reflecting Söderberg’s belief in fashion as a form of expression that transcends the everyday. Each garment is designed to convey tension and clarity, creating a visual language that speaks to the wearer’s inner strength and the outer world’s challenges.

In addition to fashion, Söderberg has recently expanded his vision into the realm of object design. His furnishings mirror the same clean, knife-edge language of his clothing, integrating subversive elements that provoke thought and emotion. These pieces are a natural extension of his work in fashion, offering the same blend of architectural precision and industrial robustness.

The new collection will be open for preview and preorder at Orimono, Sophienstr. 5 in Berlin next Wednesday. This event is not just a showcase of new products, but an invitation to experience the intersection of fashion, art, and design in a way that is uniquely Söderberg—a blend of past and future, tradition and innovation, all crafted with uncompromising quality.
