A modern art journey nestled within a serene sanctuary designed by the visionary YABU Pushelberg, lies  at the heart of Qianhai’s bustling business district. Embracing the theme “A Story of a Dreamer,” they invites us to embark on personal journeys of discovery and achievement, all set against a backdrop of meaningful luxury and cultural depth.

The hotel captures the city’s dynamic spirit with its blend of modern design and traditional charm, offering a perfect retreat complemented by stunning bay views. Reflecting Shenzhen’s metamorphosis from a serene fishing hamlet to a vibrant metropolis, Conrad is an anthology of the city’s cultural renaissance. The journey begins in the lobby, inspired by traditional Chinese architecture, where distinct sections artfully separate the front desk from the dining sanctuaries. Upon entry, guests are greeted by Zhang Xian’s “The Two Forms,” a sculpture embodying the genesis of both Shenzhen and the hotel, steeped in ancient Chinese philosophies of yin and yang. Huang Qicheng’s artworks amplify Conrad Shenzhen’s narrative. “The Lighthouse of Star,” adorning the first-floor lift lobby, echoes the spiral of lighthouse stairs, its light and undulating silhouettes a tribute to Shenzhen’s maritime roots. In the Sky Lobby on the fifth floor, “Chen Yun” interweaves eight distinct traditional Chinese architectural styles, symbolizing Shenzhen’s role as a cultural nexus where dreams and creativity converge.

“Encapsulating the transformative spirit of Shenzhen, which in just four decades, evolved from a quiet fishing village into a vibrant megacity. This is woven throughout the hotel’s design with elegant motifs inspired by the city’s humble past, reimagined through a modern lens.”

“The White Night entrance features a white sculpture named after the Chinese writer Tiening. In her essay “A Woman’s White Night,” she wrote: “Being missed and missing others is a feeling of happiness. Such happiness stirs the full passion of the soul, and it radiates brilliance throughout the day.” We propose changing “woman” to “traveler” and hope every traveler finds the happiness that is yearned for and shared in the home where the hotel resides.”

Conrad Shenzhen is a sanctuary that captures the city’s kinetic spirit, merging avant-garde design with cultural heritage to create an oasis with views stretching across the bay. For events, Conrad Shenzhen offers 2,100 square meters of versatile spaces, with ballrooms, spanning two levels and connected by a spectacular spiral staircase illuminated by a constellation of suspended lightbulbs. Guest rooms, reminiscent of nautical voyages, boast floor-to-ceiling windows that frame breathtaking bay views. A symphony of warm, muted hues, copper accents, and curvilinear forms orchestrates a serene ambiance. The bathroom fixtures, inspired by maritime silhouettes, incorporate design elements reminiscent of navigational tools. Culinary experiences at Conrad Shenzhen are an alchemy of local flavors and modern techniques, offered across three distinctive dining venues and a bar: Azaleas lounge, The Common Room (features premium cuts, seafood, and specialties crafted in a mesmerizing show kitchen); CH’AO (reimagines Chaozhou and Cantonese classics through a contemporary lens, utilizing seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients, all in all a strong adventure that promises to be both educational and rewarding if one comes with an open mind) and The Collective Bar (with an outdoor patio overlooking the bay, serves an exquisite selection of whiskies and cocktails, providing a sophisticated backdrop for social gatherings).
