Road to Awakenings Upclose / 2025

May 17-18, 2025, The Netherlands.

Upclose Festival returns to Spaarnwoude-Park on May 17-18, 2025, for its highly anticipated second edition, bringing together a carefully selected mix of artists shaping the sound of today’s electronic music. After a sold-out debut, the festival stays true to its raw, intimate atmosphere, with a lineup that blends established names and fresh talent. This year’s program promises deep, immersive sounds and standout back-to-back sets designed for those who live for the dance floor. We’ve been invited to join in on this groundbreaking experience, and we’re looking forward to being part of a weekend of shared energy that defines club culture at its purest.

Upclose, Awakenings’ most intimate festival, strips everything back to its core, crafting a space where music dictates the experience. After a sold-out first edition that set a new standard for underground festivals, Upclose 2025 returns, delving deeper into techno’s progressive and boundary-pushing sounds. This year’s lineup reflects that ethos, balancing precision and spontaneity. From hypnotic deep cuts to high-intensity peak-time sets, the curation is designed for those who value the craft of DJing and live performance. Upclose 2025 brings together a mix of underground staples, forward-thinking collaborations, and rare back-to-back sets that push artists outside their usual approach.

Donato Dozzy and Jane Fitz join forces for the first time, blending deep, rolling rhythms with an atmospheric touch. Jeff Mills returns with his signature futurism, while KI/KI, known for her high-energy selections, is set to take the crowd on an unpredictable ride. Ben Klock and Ignez merge Berlin’s weighty groove with Dutch minimalism, and Marrøn joins Rødhåd for a deep, driving exploration of techno’s more textured side.

Live performances take a central role this year. 999999999, known for their relentless acid sound, bring a special set that’s expected to push intensity levels to the limit. Stigmata revives early 2000s techno with a sharp, industrial edge, while Luigi Tozzi delivers his signature hypnotic soundscapes. Atsuo the Pineapple Donkey makes his Dutch debut with a hardware-driven set full of improvisation. Traumer, known for his sleek minimalism, presents an exclusive live performance, and Cristian Varela and Marco Bailey face off in a high-intensity six-deck battle.

The weekend also highlights dynamic collaborations that push beyond the expected. Anetha and Patrick Mason’s joint set promises a mix of groove and high-impact energy, while Surgeon and Rrose debut an exclusive live project. DJ Rush brings raw Chicago power, DJ EZ infuses the weekend with garage-inflected speed, and SPFDJ keeps things fast and unrelenting. On the house and breaks side, Chris Stussy and Sally C step up for a groove-heavy set, and DJ Fuckoff blurs genres with her bold, attitude-packed selections.

Upclose 2025 thrives on the connection between artist and crowd. The festival’s intimate scale makes every set feel immediate, every shift in energy tangible. Without massive production distractions, the focus stays where it matters—on the music, the movement, and the shared experience of the dance floor. On May 17 and 18, 2025, Spaarnwoude-Park transforms into the ultimate destination for those who seek more from their festival experience. Here, the energy is raw, the music is relentless, and the dance floor is everything.
