David Lynch / Pace Gallery Berlin

On view from January 29 to March 26, 2026.

Pace Gallery Berlin presents a concentrated exhibition of works by David Lynch, on view from January 29 to March 22, 2026, offering an immersive entry into the artist’s deeply interdisciplinary practice. Spanning paintings, sculptures, watercolors, photographs, and early short films, the exhibition traces Lynch’s lifelong commitment to material experimentation and image-making beyond the cinematic frame. The presentation anticipates a major exhibition scheduled for fall 2026 at Pace Gallery Los Angeles, returning the work to the artist’s hometown.

In the past, Lynch has gifted us productions such as Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, Twin Peaks, and Lost Highway; yet, as many know, his career was not born in film, but in the world of fine art. Lynch has long expressed that he was a visual artist first, filmmaker second. Even as his career evolved, he continued to produce and create across mediums, sometimes during filming, sometimes while traveling. He created pieces so captivating that many of his artworks, sculptures, and sketches have since become centerpieces of exhibitions and displays around the world.

In this particular case, a “focused selection” of David Lynch’s works is nestled in Berlin, Germany, at Pace Gallery’s Berlin space. From January 29 to March 26, this major solo exhibition explores Lynch’s enthrallment with industrial spaces, machinery, and aging objects, broken windows, chimneys, and decaying structures, expressed through photographs taken in abandoned locations he once visited throughout Berlin.

At the same time, a collection of sculptures, drawings, paintings, and watercolor illustrations is presented, revealing a rich juxtaposition of color and trace against glum, dark backdrops, each framed in structures constructed by the artist himself. All of these works are drenched in the classical surrealist and enigmatic aura that unmistakably distinguishes a David Lynch piece.
