“Dinner”
From the mass mechanization of the Industrial Revolution to the post-modern impact of public media, the spirit of art is being eaten away by the rapidly developing technology. The dramatic clash between the gorgeous Rococo style and the harsh modern machinery highlights the anxiety of subjectivity, and at the same time, it raises concerns about the ethics of modern science and technology.
“The Mechanical Lifeform”
A young girl’s fantasies are never just pink luminous bubbles and princess skirts. Her mind is capable of holding cold mechanical pipelines, natural minerals and even the vast universe. In the era of cyberpunk, the edge between carbon-based and silicon-based creatures is gradually blurring. This inspires Chen Yanran to create the mechanical lifeform belonging to the Z generation.
