Hybrid Visions / UGG x sacai

Spotlight on the new collaboration.

UGG and sacai reunite for Fall/Winter 2025 with a bold collaboration that fuses cozy Australian heritage with avant-garde Japanese design. Debuting at Paris Fashion Week, the collection redefines winter footwear through sculptural silhouettes, premium materials, and sacai’s signature hybrid aesthetic.

When two fashion heavyweights meet, the impact can land as either a lazy collision or a true creative ignition. UGG x sacai Fall Winter 2025 is firmly the latter, a bold rewrite of everything we thought we knew about comfort and couture. Six years after their last encounter, the return feels intentional. No revival, no nostalgia. A reset. Debuting at Paris Fashion Week, the collection arrives not as a product drop but as a fully shaped statement, runway born, sculptural, playful.

At its core, the collaboration fuses UGG’s elemental warmth with sacai’s instinct for hybrid form. Chitose Abe frames it as a meeting of functionality and signature sacai codes: gold buckles, coin details, voluminous silhouettes. The result is footwear that slips between utility and ornament, three silhouettes that stretch both brands into new terrain. Abe’s touch is unmistakable, exaggerated lines, architectural curves, and the idea that comfort itself can be a sculptural expression.

The capsule features three distinct models: a thigh-high boot, a loafer, and a hiker boot, each embodying a different mode of expression. The thigh-high comes in black and chestnut suede, lined with shearling and detailed with rear buckles that allow the boot to be worn folded or upright. The loafer, chunky and grounded by a squared sole, pairs exposed shearling with smooth suede for a tactile clash of textures. The hiker boot reworks a mountain silhouette into a piece of urban armour: functional yet fashion-forward. All three arrive in a tight colour palette of chestnut and black, grounding their exaggerated proportions in familiar, classic tones.

In a season where comfortwear has transcended the confines of home life, this collaboration lands perfectly in the cultural moment. It acknowledges UGG’s laid-back Australian heritage while allowing sacai to channel its hybrid philosophy into foorwear design, an area less explored by the Japanese label. The boots and loafers sit at the intersection of cozy and conceptual, winter pieces that serve warmth and attitude in equal measure. In 2025, the footwear landscape is going through a seismic shift. Designers are embracing the bold, the voluminous, the strange. In this context, UGG x sacai feels both of the moment and slightly ahead of it. The loafers are heavy yet soft, the boots tall yet supple. Each piece embodies a tension: between lightness and protection, intimacy and spectacle. It’s cozy couture, built for streets that demand both comfort and statement.

UGG x sacai it’s a new kind of fashion logic. One that says: we’ve outgrown minimalism and performance wear, and we’re ready to feel again, literally. Shearling, suede, buckles, oversized soles: these are not embellishments but expressions of tactility, of presence. If you were waiting for the next evolution of comfort dressing, one that feels both radical and real, this is it.

It’s a return, but also a reinvention, driven by the same radical spirit that first pulsed through these concrete chambers in the early ’80s.
