Tell us a bit about you, your background. What made you start (and continue doing) your brand?
I like to create things. I think I don’t start it on a particular time, this urge to make something with my bear hands was inside of me as long as I remember myself. I can’t even imagine stopping doing what I do. It’s like don’t waking up in the morning and drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes, it’s that natural for me.
You have Georgian origins, living on an Island in Bali, how did these two different cultures influence your “avant-garde” aesthetic?
This culture doesn’t influence in any way what I do, I act according to my mind. It’s not really necessary to have comfort / discomfort to push me to do new things. Georgia is the home, cozy place where I grew up and where I learn mostly important skills. Living in Bali is like a lifelong vacation which I’m not planning to finish yet.
How would you describe Nutsa in 3 words?
One stubborn bitch (artist)!
You state that you are a “designer of opposites and compliments, where masculine and feminine elements are balanced into sensual asymmetries” Can you tell us more about what inspires you and moves you deeply.
If I’m being honest I did not write that text and actually want to change it but don’t have time to write a one new so it means whatever it means :). I try to not separate genders from each other, i’m always on the move, everything and also nothing. Not sure from where I get inspiration but I always project how I feel, making something is a therapy which I found early on in my life and it helps me to realize the spirits which are best not kept inside.
You are also a biker, which passion came first the one for fashion or for motorcycles?
Bikes are more like a hobby, source of adrenaline and fun. Me and my husband both love custom bikes, riding and planning which bike we gonna add to our garage next.
Which is the best advice you were ever given in life so far?
I actually don’t remember anything because mostly I’m the one who gives advice around here :)
Future plans you would like to share with us?
Right now my only plan is to rise my 6 month old daughter and be with her as more time as possible, because pregnancy and birth giving changed me in ways which I never thought was possible, the joy this tiny person gives us is unexplainable and we want to give her all our energy and love. As fashion and the world is resting from the pandemic we (me and my partner) created a new studio (Archy Project) which is oriented to build new brands from the ground up for people who always dreamed it but never had courage or information on how to do it.
