This hotel, designed by local architecture firm Visioarq Arquitectos with interiors by Broadway Malyan, provides a fresh yet grounded approach to luxury that honors Porto’s UNESCO World Heritage allure. Positioned as an “Art House in The Park,” the hotel is conceptualized with art and nature at its core, harmoniously blending the city’s historic charm with modern elegance. The Renaissance Porto Lapa’s design is distinguished by its Art Deco-inspired interiors and the use of a champagne color palette accented by petrol blue—a subtle nod to the Douro River that flows between Porto and Gaia. The interior details include traditional Portuguese tiles, a signature of Porto’s architectural heritage, along with notable art installations. The mosaic tile installation by Pedrita Studio, a painting by Isabel Mello, and an eye-catching piece with corrugated iron and neon lights by Berlin-based artist Clemens Behr lend an artistic depth that anchors the hotel in local and international creativity.

The hotel embodies an “Art House in The Park” ethos, using a sophisticated Art Deco theme paired with Porto-inspired colors like champagne and petrol blue, symbolizing the nearby Douro River. Art installations from celebrated Portuguese artists, including Pedrita Studio’s tile mosaics and works by Isabel Mello and Clemens Behr.
