Arts Center & Activities
Last but not least there is the hotel’s connection to art, not as mere decoration but as programmed interconnection. Sensoria runs collaborations with South Tyrolean artists, including Peter Senoner and sculptor Aron Demetz, with dedicated Art Edition periods where their work shapes the atmosphere and guests can engage through exclusive studio visits, active workshops and events. Rooted in Val Gardena’s centuries-old woodcarving tradition, where craft has long been a form of cultural transmission rather than ornament, Sensoria extends that lineage into the present. This is where the place stops being only a wellness/mountain retreat and becomes a cultural container.
The venue hosts several artworks, forming a curated selection that introduces the artists’ broader research across sculpture, drawing and material experimentation. Displayed throughout Sensoria, the works trace recurring themes of introspection, transformation and the relationship between body, nature and technology, reinforcing the hotel’s role as a space where art is fully integrated into daily experience.
The artworks curation includes:
Introspection (Bust of a Woman): A sculpted bust marked by a slightly displaced gaze, inviting an inward dialogue. The visible wood grain softens the form, balancing fragility and restraint.
Pholiota Denuntians: A body landscape where organic wood and digital precision intersect. The surface recalls architectural mapping, evoking cycles of growth and transformation. You can see this in the main lobby, on the right of the fireplace.
Metamorphosis: A kneeling figure placed in the Sensoria garden, embodying humility and self-reflection. The posture becomes an act of pause, aligning the body with its surroundings.
ArtArctic: Works created under simulated extreme climatic conditions at terraXcube in Bolzano, where artistic process and scientific research merge, testing resilience under pressure.
