Exposures: Fire walk with me

A selection of must-watch movies with a common thread.

“Of fire in nature, love in spirit, unkenned
Life hath no spring, no axle, and no end.”

Fire is a powerful element, manifests in impressive visuals reflecting inner madness, disorder, pain, fear and demolition. Thus, it is not only stimulating but also highly symbolic. Although associated with destruction, fire can also provide redemption. It can also be seen as a sign of divinity, religious zeal and martyrdom, superiority, power and authority. While associated with control, fire often demonstrates the loss of one’s composure. Fire is tempting yet daunting, lavish yet destructive. She is beautiful and formidable, can caress you warmly but might also burn you alive if she desires to. Try to rule her and watch how things get out of control.
